Meet the inspired visionary, big-hearted leader, and talented designer behind Eighteenth Avenue Events: Ashley Ramirez. As the owner, lead planner, and designer of Eighteenth Avenue Events, Ashley dons many fabulous hats on a daily basis—and balances them all with an unmatched eye for detail that ensures every aspect of an event will be seamlessly executed.
Ashley received a degree in interior design from San Diego State University (Go Aztecs!), which provided a solid foundation for her career path. Ultimately, her creativity and innovative approach to planning and design have built her stellar reputation in the industry. Ashley has never stopped learning, taking initiative in every aspect of the industry to hone her understanding of the planning process. She has taken classes in photography, cake-baking, calligraphy, and floral arrangement—all better equipping her to handle your special day.
Behind the scenes, you can find this gluten-free girl enjoying macarons (her weakness) or sushi (breakfast, lunch, or dinner!). She prefers white wine over red, but would never turn down a glass of Franciscan Magnificat paired with a romantic movie. She’s a former dancer, present dessert aficionado, and DNA-hardwired crafter. Ashley never leaves the house without the perfect statement accessory, and as you might have guessed from the name of the business… 18 is her very lucky number!
When she’s not helping bring client romances to life, Ashley can be found cultivating her own love story at home with her family. She tied the knot with her love (since 2002) in 2009, and together they now have a son and daughter constantly tugging at their heartstrings.
Amy, associate planner, possesses a passion for helping bring wedding dreams to life. Coupled with a love for all things creative and a knack for organization, she has the perfect qualities for executing seamless wedding day visions. As a night owl, she finds her best ideas tend to hit after midnight—and she loves coming up with the perfect plan to realize all those unique details on your special day.
She’s the red wine to Ashley’s white, but more often than not you’ll find a Starbucks cup of tea in her hand instead of a stemmed glass. Amy’s a sucker for kitchen gadgets, and could get lost for hours in The Container Store. She’s an animal lover, fall fanatic (the weather, the colors, the holidays… everything about autumn!), only child, and change embracer. Her flexible nature and constant creativity will ensure a smoothly hosted event you’ll remember for a lifetime.
Amy met her husband and the man of her dreams at San Diego State University and they’ve been married since 2007, with a beautiful son and daughter to complete their happy family.
